Results

Technology

INDIBA® EDNA devices stimulate healthy cell function and revitalization through radio frequency therapy. INDIBA works at a specific frequency of 448kHz, which causes thermal and sub-thermal effects, achieving noticeable results from the first session.
1

Biostimulation (sub-thermal)

Activates the cells metabolic rate, increases circulation and activates fibroblasts.
2

Vascularization (thermal)

Dilates blood vessels, increasing blood flow, oxygenating tissue and cells, increasing cell metabolism and encouraging drainage.
2

Hyperactivation (hyperthermal)

Breaks down fat/fatty deposits, detoxifies and encourages toxin drainage, increases cell metabolism and encourages collagen production.

How does INDIBA therapy work?
INDIBA uses an electromagnetic current that is sent to the body through electrodes at a radiofrequency of 448 kHz. This energy current gradually raises the temperature of the treated tissue. This increase leads to the body’s natural regeneration, repair, and defense responses. Through the power frequency of 448 kHz, other effects can also be achieved without warming up the body’s tissues, such as biostimulation.

Why 448 kHz?
INDIBA is investing a lot of resources into the research of its technology, in order to guarantee the best results. During this process, a team from the recognized Spanish University Hospital Ramón y Cajal in Madrid (Dr. Úbeda and his team) have been studying what happens to the body’s cells when INDIBA is applied. They have discovered that the 448 kHz frequency of INDIBA is effective at stimulating stem cells to proliferate and differentiate, and that normal, healthy cells are not affected in the process.

Which are the main biological effects of INDIBA therapy?
The effects depend on the temperature reached:

  • At non-heating intensities, due to the effect of the single 448 kHz current, biostimulation happens.
  • At moderate temperatures, the principal effect is vascularization, which makes the deep blood flow increase, providing more oxygen and nutrients for repair.
  • At high temperatures, there is a hyperactivation effect, making both the volume and intensity of deep blood flow increase In aesthetics, high tissue temperature can reduce wrinkles, flabbiness, and enhance the appearance of cellulite.

What is INDIBA used for?
INDIBA technology is multidisciplinary as it can be applied in rehabilitation and physiotherapy treatments, and for pelvic health, aesthetic medicine, beauty, and animal health. According to their specific purpose, the equipment has been designed to suit the needs of each professional. In the field of aesthetics and beauty, the main indications of INDIBA technology are:

  • Reduction of wrinkles and expression lines.
  • Improvement of the appearance of bags and dark circles under the eyes.
  • Anti-age lifting effect.
  • Redefinition of the facial oval.
  • Firming and shape of the silhouette.
  • Reduction of orange peel skin, stretch marks and flaccidity.
  • Drainage, hydration and softness of the skin.
  • Improvement of circulation.
  • Promotion of hair growth and prevention of hair loss.

Do I have to be a professional to use INDIBA?
Yes, it is necessary to be certified to receive INDIBA equipment and to take specific training.

How many INDIBA therapy sessions are needed?
This depends on the type of treatment to be done and the situation of each person. However, 6 sessions are usually recommended for facial treatments and 6 to 12 sessions for body treatments. For hair treatments, cycles of 2-3 months are advised until an optimum result is reached.

Is there a limit to the number of INDIBA therapy sessions?
Although there is no limit on the number of applications, the most common is 1 to 3 sessions per week, depending on the treatment chosen and the objectives to be achieved.

Is INDIBA therapy painful?
No, in fact, it is a pleasant experience.

Are there any side effects as a result of INDIBA therapy?
INDIBA therapy is harmless to the body. Nevertheless, you may experience a slight reddening that will fade rather quickly and/or a brief tingling of the skin when it is very sensitive or when very high temperatures are reached.

Which are the main contraindications for INDIBA therapy?

  • Pacemakers or other types of electronic implants
  • Pregnancy
  • Thrombophlebitis

Devices working at 448 kHz are not restricted in the case of metal implants such as hip and knee prostheses, metal pins or plates.

What are the precautions to be taken when using INDIBA?
If you are taking anticoagulant medication or undergoing oncological treatment, check with your doctor first if it is possible to apply INDIBA.
If you have any of the following pathologies or disorders, please inform your health professional before the session, so that he/she can evaluate and adapt the treatment:

  • Active infections
  • Altered cognition
  • Lack of sensation
  • Recent wounds and burns
  • Tumors

Is INDIBA contraindicated for people with a nickel allergy?
For the administration of INDIBA radiofrequency energy, different electrodes are used. The RES (resistive) electrodes and the return plate contain nickel and consequently should not be used by people with a nickel allergy.

Can I receive INDIBA treatment if I have a metallic prosthesis?
Yes, the presence of a metallic prosthesis is not a medical contraindication for treatment because the system does not heat the metal.

Can I be treated with botulinum toxin on the face?
There is a specific protocol for combined treatments where it is defined how long after the botulinum toxin you should wait to apply INDIBA®.

Can I be treated with hyaluronic acid on the face?
Yes, there is a special protocol for combined treatments where it is defined how long after the application of hyaluronic acid you must wait to apply INDIBA.

Can INDIBA treatment be performed on people who have previously undergone deep peels, microdermabrasion, laser, IPL, etc.?
Yes, as long as there is no extreme sensitivity induced by the other treatment techniques and the skin has returned to its natural state.

Can I sunbathe before or after an INDIBA session?
Unlike other technologies, such as lasers, sunbathing is not restricted with radiofrequency therapy. However, if hyperthermia has been used, it is best to avoid sun exposure for the following 24-48 hours.

Can make-up be used after an INDIBA session?
Yes, the application of make-up is not contraindicated.

Can INDIBA be used on people with breast implants?
Yes, the treatment is not contraindicated for people with breast implants.
